I am a senior professional with over 20 years of experience in management consulting and in the service industry. After a couple of years working in a software company, and after an MBA at the MIT Sloan School of Management, I started my consulting career in Arthur D. Little, followed by Booz-Allen & Hamilton and A.T.Kearney. Since 2004 I have continued advising customers as a free-lance contractor. During all these years, I have specialised in strategic and business planning for multiple telecom operators in Europe and in the Middle East, as well as doing business due diligences for M&A's, regulatory work and marketing.
In 2012 I joined Vodafone in an internal advising role. In the following three years I toured Vodafone operating companies (Opco's) in Europe and South Africa working with the local teams on commercial related issues. The main theme has been the improvement of commercial performance using levers such as channel incentives and commissions, customer value management policies and tools, customer processes and product management. I have also covered customer operations, financial planning and program management roles.
In 2016 I moved to Arqiva, heading the PMO function for a major £50m three-year cost reduction program, targeting all addressable third-party spend. The deliverables from this program played a fundamental role in the long-term financial planning and in the different budget cycles. They were also reported to the shareholders, consultants and potential buyers and were key factors during the preparation of an IPO.
At the end of my experience in Arqiva I have moved back to the management consulting business. Although I have mainly worked in telecommunications, all my commercial-related competences are equally applicable to customer-intensive industries, such as financial services, utilities, retail, where the need to maintain current customers and sustain their level of revenues is increasingly more important.
